Early Menopause

Premature Ovarian Failure (Early Menopause) is the suspension of menstruation (menopause) in women under 41 years of age. This condition appears in 1–5% of women of reproductive age.

As in typical menopause, early menopause is preceded by a period of 1-3 years characterised by pre-menopausal symptoms, e.g. irregular or delayed periods, too-frequent periods (2 per cycle), or lighter periods.

The only way to deal with this condition is prevention. Prevention in this case includes egg or ovarian tissue freezing, to be used when early menopause sets in.
